This group focuses on the performance, theory, and practice of jazz and popular music. Students will be exposed to quality music literature of the jazz, rock, funk and Latin genres. The ensemble will perform several concerts, special functions and festivals throughout the year. The PCHS Jazz Ambassadors is an audition only ensemble and will consist of the following instrumentation: 2 alto saxophones, 2 tenor saxophones, 1 bari saxophone, 4 trombones, 4 trumpets, 1 electric guitar, 1 bass guitar, 2 keyboards, 1 drum set and 1 percussionist.

 

This ensemble will rehearse on Monday evenings from 4:30pm to 5:30pm in the PCHS Band Room beginning in mid-August. Auditions will take place in mid-September. You must prepare the material for the audition and any improvisation that you are able to demonstrate will be an added bonus.
