The Beginning Band is open to any students grades 9-12 wishing to learn an wind or percussion instrument. Students who have previously played a wind or percussion instrument may enroll and learn a secondary instrument if so desired. This course is geared to the development of basic, fundamental playing and technical skills needed to perform in a ensemble group setting. This ensemble will perform in one-two concerts per year and is set-up to provide students with the basic fundamental knowledge to continue intermediate and advanced study in music on a wind or percussion instrument should they desire to continue after this course is complete. There is a $25 course fee associated with this class to help cover the costs of the instrument rental, maintenance, and course materials.
